School Program

Yasu offers two programs; a 45 minute school assembly show and a multi-day residency program.  His curriculum based show incorporates Japanese storytelling with Japanese cultural arts, such as Bamboo Flutes & Mats, Lion Dance, Kendama, Kamishibai, and Origami.

His residency program features a hands-on origami workshop. Japanese culture, history and geography are taught through the art of paper folding.
 

Both programs are connected to state standards in Theatre Arts, Music, Art, Social Studies, Language Arts and Mathematics (Geometry).

His school programs are affiliated with several arts organizations in the country, such as the South Carolina Arts Commission, ASC of Charlotte, and  United Arts Council of Wake & Raleigh County

For libraries he offers a 45 minute program geared toward family audiences that incorporates storytelling with magic tricks and origami.  A teen workshop program is available too.

His popular library programs have been featured all over the country in California, Hawaii, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania,  to Florida and other places
